THOR's first live performance in Hollywood in many years was indeed a triumphant return.
The Knitting Factory and Smog Veil Records hosted a movie premiere party for Murder At The Presidio, (which aired on USA Network in early May 2005). Lou Diamond Phillips stars in the made-for-TV crime drama thriller, and was in attendance at The Knitting Factory for THOR's performance on April 26th, along with a club full of eager fans.
THOR performed both new songs from his new CD, Thor Against The World (on Smog Veil Records), and a few of his heavy metal anthem classics from the 1980's. The set included Megaton Man, Glimmer, Easy Woman, Anger, Thunder On The Tundra, and Let The Blood Run Red. The crowd reaction was phenomenal, and I could hear quite a few people singing along to the classics.
The band members at this performance did an oustanding job of remaining true to THOR's classic sound: Frank Meyer: Guitar, Bruce Duff - Keyboards & Guitar, Dino Everett - Bass, and Chris Markwood- Drums. Special guests onstage: Damien Storm and The Ogre.
VH1 crews were at THOR's rehearsal and the Knitting Factory show filming an upcoming show which will air later this summer. More details on this will be posted on this site sometime in the near future.
Smog Veil Records really went above & beyond the call of duty with this CD release party, and a thunderous HAIL! goes to them.
